Local Medical Issues
Heartworm disease is a malady that both dogs and cats need a preventative for year-round. This disease is transmitted to our pets by mosquitoes. Typically, our winters don't get cold enough to kill mosquito eggs, so a once-per-month preventative is needed to ensure protection. A simple blood test is required once per year, and VCA West Mesa can provide your pet the diagnostic and the preventative! The Center for Disease Control is advising that the frequency of diagnosing endoparasites is increasing in the western states. Many of these internal parasites can be transmitted from pets to people! An examination and preventative can be provided by our hospital to keep all members of your family safe from this very real danger!
We offer a Preventive Care Clinic (vaccines are 50% off) on Thursdays from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
