Hello! My name is Janet Busick and I have been a small-scale breeder of beautiful colored sugar gliders for around 10 years. I absolutely fell in love with these wonderful critters when I was introduced to them and then melted over the first Leu joey I saw (she is the older of my mother/daughter Leus). Jocelyn's breeder became a wonderful friend and a great mentor and taught me many many things. Therefore I love to
return this kindness.
At present I have Leucistics, Black Beauties, WF's, WFB's, Leu Hets, Lion, Mosaics, Creamino, Creamino Hets, Platinum, Platinum Hets, Albino Hets, and my first White Tip Tail that is staying here! My glider room has ten large flight cages (5 ½ ft. tall) giving me an extra cage for the time being for joeys needing moved from their parents. Cages are power washed once a month, wiped down often in between, and cage trays are cleaned every other day.
I love to talk suggies and invite you into my home to see my set up and all of my gliders and to ask questions. I also have provided a 250 + page handout with all of the correct information for caring for these precious babies and lists of all the needed supplies and where to purchase them.
Background -
I grew up on a farm filled with animals of all kinds (cows, horses, ponies, goats, dogs, cats, etc.) so naturally was an animal lover from the time I was very small.
I worked for State Farm Insurance at Corporate Headquarters in Bloomington, IL for 25 years and was put on disability. During the time I was employed at State Farm Insurance I showed dogs in both conformation and obedience. My main breed was Keeshonden (the Dutch Barge dog – called the smiling dutchman). I also showed Shetland Sheepdogs, Belgian Tervurens, Beagles, and one Shih Tzu. I traveled many miles every weekend to dog shows and still miss it. I also boarded dogs for over 30 years on the farm and at my current location before I gave that up due to being on disability.
My pets are the biggest part of my life and my joy. I still have 3 Keeshonds that were puppies I raised, father/son Long-Coat Chihuahuas, and a Chocolate Merle Pomeranian. Plus my wonderful and fiesty Sun Conure, Molly. And, of course, all of my gliders. They give me a reason to be up in the morning. I now live on 3 lots about 6 miles from the “farm” (sold) and am now in a new modular home.
