Excellence in Care for Pets and Their Families since 1972
We are a small animal, avian and exotic animal practice, which means we not only see cats and dogs but also rabbits, ferrets, reptiles, birds, pocket pets; well you get the idea. We have been providing exotic animal care since 1987.
Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic first opened its doors in 1972!
It was a very different world back then. A world before desktop computers, mobile phones, and diagnostic tools such as ultrasound and the ability to run our own blood work in clinic.
When it first opened, BVC was known as a “mixed animal” practice and what is now our garage was used to treat cows, horses and various other large animals. Over the years, BVC transitioned from caring for large and small animals to mainly small animals. In 1987, Dr. Wendy Korver joined BVC and began welcoming avian and exotic patients to the practice.
Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic continues to dedicate itself to providing the best and most scientific-based medicine to all of our patients. We place a high level of importance on diagnostic tools, preventative medicine and education for staff and clients.
Veterinary care has progressed far beyond “just giving your pet its shots”. We are committed to providing the best possible care to your furry, feathered or scaled friend combined with lots of TLC, of course. We pride ourselves on our outstanding veterinarians and support staff and we are here for your pet whenever you need us.
